Launching is step one
Somnio modernizes, scales and evolves products that are already live. Legacy application modernization, performance and reliability work, product analytics, and continuous roadmap execution on a codebase you already own.

The product works. Changing it is what got expensive
Every release takes longer than the last one. A change in one place breaks something in another. The team spends more time keeping the product standing than moving it forward, and nobody can point to the decision that caused it.
Meanwhile the questions from the business get harder. Why is retention flat? Why does the app get slower under load? Why does a small feature take a quarter?
Technical debt is not a code problem. It is a speed problem, and it compounds.
Four ways in
Most engagements start with an assessment. If you are deciding whether to invest further at all, start there.
Continuous product evolution
Roadmap execution, feature iteration, release planning, and user feedback into the product. A team that picks up the roadmap and moves it, sprint after sprint.
Legacy application modernization
Assessment of the product, architecture, and technical debt, then a modernization plan. Architecture improvements, legacy app and backend modernization, and migration to a scalable cloud-ready architecture. Gradual, without a full rebuild.
Scaling and reliability
Performance optimization, scalability and reliability improvements, monitoring and observability, QA automation and CI/CD work.
Data-driven product improvement
Analytics implementation, experimentation, product insights, conversion and retention work, and app growth including ASO where it applies.
Deciding whether to invest further?
Start with an assessment and a ranked list of what to fix.
Book an assessment callAssess first, then change what matters
Assess
We review the product, the architecture, the codebase and the technical debt, and the analytics if they exist. The output is a ranked list of what to fix, what to rebuild, what to leave alone, and what each one buys you.
Stabilize
Before adding anything, we fix what makes change expensive. Test coverage, monitoring, the release process, the worst of the coupling.
Modernize or scale
Architecture work, migration, performance work, or roadmap execution, depending on what the assessment ranked first. Delivered incrementally, with the product live throughout.
Measure
Analytics and monitoring, so the next decision is based on what the product is doing.
Nothing in this sequence requires taking the product offline or freezing the roadmap.
What you end up holding
The product stays live and shipping throughout. Modernization happens in increments you can stop at any point.
A faster product
Measured against a baseline taken before the work started.
A codebase that is cheaper to change
Test coverage, monitoring, and architecture decisions documented.
A roadmap based on data
Analytics in place and instrumented, so the next set of priorities comes from usage.
We assess before we quote
Most modernization proposals arrive as a rebuild, because a rebuild is easier to scope than a repair. We start with an assessment, and we tell you where the cheaper answer is, which is frequently a small amount of work in the right place.
We also know the specific case well. Somnio has been building with Flutter since 2018, so Flutter and legacy mobile app modernization is a path we have walked repeatedly, alongside backend modernization and cloud migration.
Tech Lead
The assessment, the architecture plan, and the estimate.
Developers
Mobile, web and backend, staffed to what the assessment ranked.
QA Engineer
Test coverage and regression safety, which is what makes incremental change possible.
Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer
DevOps, pipelines, monitoring and observability.

Success cases
Wrist Goal is a smartwatch app delivering live football scores and match events to Huawei wearables, built by Somnio and launched natively on HarmonyOS NEXT with a template-based architecture ready to scale to future tournaments.
We partnered with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) to elevate member services through technology, delivering a seamless experience across Ontario.
What our clients say
“Their approach started with a Product Discovery phase, including user research, UI/UX design improvements, and technical assessments to ensure scalability. Their proactive work made a real difference in the project's success”

“Somnio Software has delivered an MVP that meets the changing needs of AI users. They've communicated effectively, have been highly responsive, and their project management is excellent. Their developers have become thought partners.”

Questions worth asking
Still have some doubts?
No worries, here are some frequently asked questions that may help you.
Updating an existing application so it is cheaper to change, faster to run, and easier to maintain, without rebuilding it from scratch. It usually combines architecture improvements, technical debt reduction, migration to modern infrastructure, and improvements to the test and release process.
Usually no, and we will tell you when the answer is yes. Gradual modernization keeps the product live and lets you stop at any point. A rebuild makes sense when the architecture cannot support where the product is going, and that is a conclusion the assessment reaches with evidence.

Yes, and that is the point of doing it incrementally. Freezing a roadmap to modernize is how modernization programs lose their sponsor.
We take a baseline before starting: release frequency, build times, performance, error rates. Then we report against it.
Sometimes, and sometimes it is three specific things. Performance work often finds a small number of causes with a large effect, which is much cheaper than an architecture program.
With instrumentation, because every roadmap decision after that gets better. It is also usually the fastest piece of work on this page.
Yes, and it is a path we have walked repeatedly. We have been building with Flutter since 2018, which means we have also seen how early Flutter codebases age. Flutter development.
Common, and it is part of what the assessment covers. Undocumented code is slower to assess and it is assessable.
Some clients keep us on for maintenance and roadmap execution. Others use us to get the product to a state their own team can carry.
