You know what to build. We know how to build it
You bring the vision. We turn it into a product. Somnio is a custom software development company that builds mobile apps, web platforms, backends and integrations for companies with a defined product direction. One team covering product, design, engineering, QA, and release.

The gap is rarely the idea. It is the execution
You have the direction, maybe the designs, and a date. What you do not have is a team that can hold mobile, web, backend, QA, and infrastructure at the same time without one of them becoming the bottleneck.
So the work gets split across vendors and contractors, and the seams show up in the product. An app that does not match the web experience. A backend that was never load tested. A release process that depends on one person.
Custom software development goes wrong at the joins.
Four ways in
Full product build
Architecture, engineering, QA, infrastructure, and release, from the specification you already have to a product in production. You leave with a working product and the documentation to maintain it.
Platform and mobile app development
A mobile app, a web platform, an admin panel, an internal tool. Scoped to what you need built, delivered as production software.
Prototype to production
Products built fast with AI coding tools get to a demo quickly and arrive without architecture, tests, access control or a release process. We assess what is there, decide what to keep and what to rewrite, then add the structure, security, test coverage and pipelines that make it something you can put in front of real users and change six months from now.
Feature and API development
New features into a deployed codebase, third-party integrations, API development, and the QA and release work around them. We work inside your existing architecture, tradeoffs, and standards.

Talk to an engineerOne team across the whole stack
Architecture
Technical approach, system design and stack decisions before anyone writes production code. We work from your specification and tell you where it will break.
Build
Two-week sprints, working software at the end of each one.
Test
QA inside the sprint. Automated regression suites, integration testing, performance testing and device testing on real hardware.
Release
CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring and app store submission. You get a repeatable release process, and it belongs to you.
Everything runs in your repositories, your ticketing system, and your standards. Code and IP are yours throughout the whole process.
What you end up holding
Production software, a codebase your team can maintain, and a release process that does not depend on us being available.
Production software
Deployed, monitored, and running for real users.
A codebase you can maintain
Architecture documentation, technical decisions recorded, and a test suite that tells you when something breaks.
A release process
Pipelines, environments and runbooks, so shipping does not depend on us being available.
Cross-platform depth, and a team that covers the whole stack
Somnio has been building with Flutter since 2018, when the framework was still in beta, and our CTO is a Google Developer Expert in Flutter and Dart. That gives you one codebase running native across mobile, web and desktop, with the engineering depth to know when a single codebase is the right answer and when it is not.
The rest of the stack sits in the same team. Mobile, web, backend, QA, DevOps and cloud.
Tech Lead
Architecture, code quality, technical decisions and estimations.
Developers
Mobile, web, backend and full stack, staffed to the product.
QA Engineer
Manual and automated testing inside the sprint.
Cloud Engineer
DevOps, pipelines, infrastructure, monitoring and releases.

Built for the constraints of your market
Three industries where we have shipped the most, each with its own regulations, integrations and definition of done.
Success cases
Wrist Goal is a smartwatch app delivering live football scores and match events to Huawei wearables, built by Somnio and launched natively on HarmonyOS NEXT with a template-based architecture ready to scale to future tournaments.
We partnered with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) to elevate member services through technology, delivering a seamless experience across Ontario.
What our clients say
“Their approach started with a Product Discovery phase, including user research, UI/UX design improvements, and technical assessments to ensure scalability. Their proactive work made a real difference in the project's success”

“Somnio Software has delivered an MVP that meets the changing needs of AI users. They've communicated effectively, have been highly responsive, and their project management is excellent. Their developers have become thought partners.”

Questions worth asking
Still have some doubts?
No worries, here are some frequently asked questions that may help you.
Building software specifically for your business rather than buying an off-the-shelf product. It covers mobile apps, web platforms, backends, APIs and integrations, designed around your requirements, your users and your existing systems.
Ask three things. Can they show production software in your product category, with real users? Do they cover the whole stack in one team, or will you be coordinating vendors? And who exactly is the technical lead on your project, by name, before you sign?
This page is about what gets built. Managed Product Delivery is about who owns delivery and how you are reported to. If you have the direction and want a team to execute it, start here and we will agree the engagement model on the call. See how we work.
Yes. It starts with a review of the code, the architecture, and the technical debt.
Flutter for cross-platform, native iOS and Android, React and modern web stacks, Node, Python, Java and Kotlin on the backend, AWS, GCP and Firebase for infrastructure. The stack is chosen per product, and we tell you why.
It depends on the product. Cross-platform with Flutter gives you one codebase across mobile, web, and desktop, which suits most products and is where our depth is. Native is the right call when you depend heavily on platform-specific hardware or APIs. We have recommended native more than once.
Inside the sprint. Automated regression suites, integration and performance testing, and device testing on real hardware.
Some clients keep us on for roadmap execution and maintenance. Others take it in-house, which the release process and documentation are built to support. Product Scaling & Evolution.
Yes, starting with an assessment of the codebase and architecture. We will tell you honestly whether continuing or rebuilding is cheaper.
