The CTO Lounge is a fireside chat series where CTOs and tech leaders share real insights on AI, product strategy, and scaling engineering teams in 2026. No fluff, just practical conversations from people building and leading every day.
What is The CTO Lounge?
There’s no shortage of tech content today.
What’s harder to find is the honest kind, where experienced technology leaders talk openly about real decisions, trade-offs, and lessons learned along the way.
The CTO Lounge is built around that gap.
It’s a fireside chat series where senior tech leaders come together for unscripted conversations on what actually matters: leadership, product strategy, team building, and how technology is evolving in 2026 and beyond.
No scripts. No over-polished takes. Just real conversations from people building and leading every day.
Episodes are published on YouTube, reaching a global audience of developers, engineering managers, and product leaders.
About the host
The series is hosted by Gianfranco Papa, CTO & Co-Founder at Somnio Software.
He’s been part of the Flutter ecosystem since its early days and is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for Flutter & Dart. He also organizes Flutter Montevideo and regularly speaks and mentors across the global tech community.
At Somnio, Gianfranco leads the company’s technical vision, working closely with teams and clients to build scalable, high-impact digital products.
His perspective is shaped by something simple but not easy to replicate:being hands-on with real products, real teams, and real challenges.

Episode 1: Leadership, AI & mobile strategy in 2026
We start with a question many teams are already facing:
What does it actually mean to lead technology today?
In the first episode, Gianfranco sits down with Victor Carreras, CTO at Capgemini Spain, for a direct, no-fluff conversation on:
- The path to becoming a CTO
- What really changes when teams start scaling
- How mobile strategy is evolving in 2026
- Where AI is creating real impact in product development
This is not a theoretical conversation.
It’s a practical exchange between leaders working at scale, navigating complexity every day.
If you're building, leading, or thinking about what’s next — this is where the conversation starts.
Why join the conversation
There’s a big difference between consuming content and being part of a conversation.
The CTO Lounge is built for the second.
Whether you’re watching, joining as a guest, or simply following along, you’re stepping into a space where real challenges are discussed openly, not simplified, not polished, but shared as they are.
This series is for people who want to go deeper:
- Engineers thinking about their next step
- Managers navigating growth and complexity
- Founders trying to understand what strong technical leadership actually looks like in practice
Because at some point, everyone building products runs into the same questions.
And hearing how others think through them makes a difference.
New episodes are coming soon, including a conversation with Anna Toppol, CTO at IBM. She’ll share her perspective on leading at scale, driving innovation within large organizations, and how AI is reshaping enterprise technology. Stay tuned.
