Greenopia connects eco-conscious consumers with vetted local businesses aligned with sustainability, health, and ethical practices. Its proprietary system evaluates each business across three pillars: good for you, the planet, and the community.

From a complex model to a seamless mobile experience
Greenopia needed to launch an iOS and Android app within a tight timeline, while turning its values-driven assessment model into a simple, trustworthy experience for users and businesses.

The result
Greenopia launched on time and within budget on both iOS and Android. The app gained early traction with hundreds of active Bay Area businesses, paying clients, and a successful crowdfunding campaign, validating demand and setting the foundation for expansion across California. We continue to support Greenopia as a long-term product partner.

Our approach
Building around discovery
- The core user experience centers on finding eco-conscious businesses nearby. We built an interactive map that lets users explore verified businesses by location, with performance and usability as key priorities. Distance-based coupon discovery was layered in to add tangible value to the browsing experience.
- Each business on the platform has a detailed profile that communicates its sustainability practices and values. We implemented Greenopia's three-pillar assessment framework directly into the UI, giving users a clear, consistent way to evaluate businesses at a glance.
Engagement that sticks
To encourage ongoing use, we developed a gamified achievements system, user profiles with badges and reviews, and notification support so users stay connected to their favorite businesses' offers and events. Onboarding was also refined to reduce friction and help new users understand the platform quickly.
