Somnio Week 2025 brought together Somniers from more than 7 countries across LATAM for a week of in-person collaboration, cultural connection, and team-building in Uruguay. From workshops at SoHo to a nature retreat in Villa Serrana, and our Somnio Awards ceremony, the week reflected why Somnio is a true Great Place to Work.
Every year, Somnio Software brings its distributed team together in Uruguay for one special tradition: Somnio Week.
What started as a simple gathering has grown into one of the pillars of our culture, an experience that reinforces why Somnio is recognized as a Great Place to Work in Latin America. Not because of certificates, but because of how people feel when they’re part of this team.
In 2025, Somniers from more than 7 countries across LATAM traveled to Montevideo to reconnect, collaborate, and share meaningful moments that strengthen who we are.

A week at Somnio’s HQ: Collaboration, Creativity & Real Human Connection
Throughout the week, our Somnio House (our headquarters in Uruguay and the place we simply call SoHo) became the space where our remote team finally worked side by side. The atmosphere felt natural and productive from the start. People moved easily between rooms, reviewed plans face-to-face, and turned the conversations that usually happen through messages into real-time discussions around shared tables. Designers, developers, PMs, and QA engineers collaborated in person, making decisions faster and with the clarity that comes from being together.
Outside the formal meetings, SoHo had its own rhythm. Music in the studio, quick rounds of ping-pong or pool, dinners around the city, and casual chats over coffee helped everyone connect on a personal level. You could hear accents from across LATAM, learn new expressions, and share stories that don’t usually come up in day-to-day work.
It was a simple reminder of how valuable it is to spend time together, working, talking, and sharing moments that strengthen trust and make collaboration easier and more meaningful.

A Weekend in Nature: Villa Serrana & the Power of Disconnecting Together
To close the week, we spent the weekend in Villa Serrana, a quiet spot in the Uruguayan countryside. The shift from the city to nature set a different tone right away. We traded the week's pace for long walks, ziplining, football matches, and relaxed time by the pool. Meals stretched into long tables full of stories, jokes, and the mix of accents that make our team so diverse.
There were moments of activity and moments of calm, catching up under the trees, sharing “mate”, and talking about things that rarely come up in day-to-day work. Away from laptops and routines, people naturally opened up, and the group felt more present.
It was a simple weekend, but one that reminded us how good it is to spend time together without an agenda, just enjoying each other’s company in a completely different setting.

 A Special Night: The Somnio Awards
One of the most meaningful moments of the entire week was the celebration dinner, where we hosted a new edition of the Somnio Awards. These awards are a core part of our culture because they recognize the attitude, values, and spirit that each Somnier brings to the team.
Some categories were fully peer-nominated, highlighting teammates who others felt best represented Somnio’s values, passion, quality, trust, empathy, team synergy, and clear communication. Other awards were defined by leadership to honor behaviors we want to continue strengthening as we grow: cultural contribution, client excellence, mentorship, leadership qualities, and the spirit that connects our entire team.
Behind each recognition, there was a meaningful story. Votes were spread across many people, which says a lot about the kind of team we are: one where impact is shared, contributions are visible, and many Somniers are doing great work every day.
More than a ceremony, the Somnio Awards were a moment to honor the people who make our culture what it is. A night filled with gratitude, laughter, and genuine pride in seeing teammates celebrated by the very people who work with them day after day.
